RUN TRACEROUTE

In computing, traceroute is a computer network diagnostic tool for displaying the route (path) and measuring transit delays of packets across an internet protocol (IP) network.

Depending on your OS (Operating System), either of the instructions will enable you to perform a 'trace route' against a domain.

Windows

  1. Go to dos prompt by clicking Start, and then Run

  2. Type 'cmd' and press Enter

  3. Type 'tracert yourdomain.com' (where 'yourdomain.com' is your actual URL) and press Enter

  4. When it has finished, and even if it looks as though it is going to hang, allow it to finish, right-click in the window and select Mark

  5. Select all of the text on the dos screen and press Enter

Mac OS X

  1. Navigate to your Applications folder, and then Utilities

  2. Open Network Utility

  3. Click the Traceroute tab and enter in your domain
